The skin is the largest organ in the human body and serves as the primary barrier between the internal environment and the external world. It is of great importance that this barrier is robust and in good health, both for the maintenance of our physical appearance and for the preservation of our general health. Emollients are products that play a pivotal role in the protection of this barrier and the maintenance of healthy skin functions.
As documented in scientific literature, Emollient Plus represents a novel advancement in emollient technology, integrating the beneficial properties of first-, second-, and third-generation emollients with a unique blend of bioactive ingredients. ⁶⁻⁷
Emollient Plus contains occlusive and humectant ingredients to maintain the moisture balance of the skin. The occlusive ingredients prevent water loss from the skin, while the humectant ingredients are hygroscopic and water-retaining. Additionally, Emollient Plus contains skin-identical lipids, including physiological lipids, in equimolar ratios (3 Ceramides, 1 Cholesterol, 1 Free Fatty Acid) to maintain normal skin functions. ⁴
Emollient Plus, also known as the “Next Generation Emollient,” offers additional benefits for dry skin through the use of special bio-active ingredients. It contributes to the natural moisture balance of dry skin, nourishing and powerfully moisturising the skin.. ²

The composition of emollients has been refined over time, resulting in enhanced efficacy in maintaining dermal hydration. Consequently, emollients are categorised into three generations: First, Second and Third. The latest generation of emollients, which encompass all three generations and are further optimised, are now available for use. ¹
